Lesson Specifics

What Instruments: Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Electric Bass are currently offered.

Ages: All ages. I've taught 6 year olds and 60 year olds.

Where/When: Joey currently teaches at his studio in Olympia on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and in Dupont/Fort Lewis on Mondays at each student's home.

How Long/Frequency: Lessons are once a week for 30 minutes. Longer lessons can be arranged (ie. hour lessons) if the student so desires. For advanced students an hour allows more time to work on more advanced concepts.

I happened to find Joey on craigslist instead of being referred to him, so I was a little skeptical about how his instruction would be. But from the first time I met him, he was extremely professional, and obviously very knowledgeable. What has kept me coming back is his patience and encouragement.

It can't be easy teaching people of different ages with many different learning styles, but Joey has that intrinsic ability that great teachers have to know when you are giving someone too much, or too little instruction. He pushes me enough to make me better, but not to make me frustrated or burned out. And as the icing on the cake, he's a really nice guy and is easy to get along with. I can't imagine a better guitar teacher.
